How does it work?
Epithelial cells in the gut have a synergistic relationship with butyrate, a short-chain fatty acid (SCFA), which plays a key role in nourishing epithelial cells, supporting their function, and regulating the gut environment. The most optimal gut compartment to study this is hindgut or colon. You can deliver frozen samples or collect the samples using our BioFreeze™ kit.
What do we measure?
This gut health panel screens for bacterial, chemical and immunological determinants of epithelial health. As a result, you gain information about the increased/decreased potential of butyrate production, residual butyrate concentration and host´s inflammation response.
